Kenosha County
Kenosha is a city in and the county seat of Kenosha County, United States. With an estimated 2006 population of 96,240. Kenosha is the fourth-largest city in Wisconsin behind Milwaukee, Madison, and Green Bay. Kenosha lies on the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan, 32 miles (51 km) south of Milwaukee and 50 miles (80 km) north of Chicago, Illinois.
Racine Country
Located between Kenosha and Milwaukee along Kenosha’s northern border with the city of Racine located on Lake Michigan. Racine also has a beautiful harbor that is easily navigated. Racine County is more agricultural than Kenosha yet still has many lakes, rivers, and parks that make it a great place to live.
Lake County
Lake County is the farthest north-east county in the U.S. state of Illinois. A 2006 census estimated the population was 713,076. Originally part of McHenry County, the townships comprising Lake County were carved out into a separate county in 1839. Its county seat is Waukegan, Illinois. According to the 2000 United States Census, Lake County is the 31st richest county by per-capita income. The county is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Its lakefront communities, along with some in Cook County, are part of an area known as the North Shore.
